Taylor for the new Secretary of the Army and Mrs. Wilber M. Brucker. Many of them. In fact, an ticipating bad driving condi tions, arrived earlier than the 6:30 o’clock hour, for which the party was set. Army Party It was strictly an Army party, with undersecretaries and assistant secretaries, gen eral officers and members of Secretary Brucker’s personal staff, and their wives, invited to meet their new boss. Secretary and Mrs. Brucker themselves arrived a little be fore -the hour, she wearing a becoming French blue batiste afternoon dress, set off by a lovely necklace and matching -earrings of pear-drop moon stones. The Bruckers received in the library with Gen. Taylor and Mrs. Taylor, who wore a soft green gown with draped bodice. Intent on getting names and faces straight was vivacious Mrs. Brucker but with the ease of a veteran, reminiscent of the days Secretary Brucker was Governor of Michigan. Salutes Colonel When Col. Irene Galloway, director of the Women’s Army Corps, came down the line, Mrs. Brucker gave her a salute that brought smiles. Among early arrivals were the Undersecretary of the Army and Mrs. Charles C. Finucane, the Assistant Sec retary of the Army and Mrs. Hugh M.
