Another speaker at the thfce day session which opened today at the Btatter Hotel, commenting on Dr. Dressier** talk said a check for cancer should be in cluded in the early examination of infants. In this wgy. Dr. Howard B. Norcross of Los An geles said, many treatable cases of cancer can be turned up in time. Surgery designed to ease the plight of patients with incurable cancer was stressed by another osteopath. Dr. Albert P. Hull of South Bend. Ind. He said "pallative surgery not only helps temper the pain of the cancer, but aids In restoring some mental balance in the pa tient—“most essential in the treatment of the disease.” Along the same lines, another ostepathic surgeon added that while this type of surgery only postpones the eventual course of toe disease it does represent an attempt to do something “for” the patient instead of "to" the patient.
