Dolinger of the fifth precinct has been chosen as Policeman of the Month for September, the Award of Merit Committee announced yesterday. Detective Dolinger was. selected for his work In the solution of the Aristo Cleaner murder case. Although his precinct com mander, Capt. Thmoas Edwards, was reluctant to single out any one man in the solution of the case and did not recommend De tective Dolinger for the award, the committee said it felt “the bit of information that kicked off the solution came through De tective Dolinger as the result of good day-to-day police work.” Intensive Manhunt Recalled In citing the officer, the com mittee of newspapermen recalled that at about 2 aun. August 2S, David L. Armhold, Jr.. 78-year eld night watchman, was found unconscious, bound and gagged an the floor in the Aristo Clean ing plant, 1226 South Capitol street. This information led to the arrest of a man who disclosed the names of two men alleged to be respon sible for the crime. The next day they were arrested and ad mitted committing the crime.
