GAYLORD, Mich., Dec. 25 UP)
—Raw liver last night lured a
yowling cat from the Leonard
Grunewald chimney, clearing the
way for Santa Claus.
With 3-year-old David Grune
wald standing anxiously by, his
parents worked more than seven
hours to persuade the cat to
leave its perch. It had fallen
into the chimney apparently
while seeking a warm spot and
landed on a ledge midway down.
Mrs. Grunewald finally put a
chunk of liver in the empty fire
place and down came the cat.
It was promptly named Saint
Nick and lodged in the garage
to be added to David’s pile of
Christmas presents. ,
