Ouest Vivian Blaine sings l her show stopper from Guys and Dolls, "Adelaide’s Lament,” Jack Benny’s Don Wilson comes a-vlsiting, and Tommy Sands, Actress Thelma Ritter and Wilson Join Perry in an old-time minstrel show, to the tune of •■There’ll Be a Hot Time In the Old Town Tonight,” Como’s finale is the famous "Kol Nidre,” In honor of the 1 Jewish New Year. (Color.) 8 p.m., WRC—4. Steve Canyon—"Thunderblrds.” Luckily, this "adventure” Is loaded with excellent footage of Jet precision flying, and that in Itself makes the show worth catching. The plot, what there is of It, Is ridiculous, and star Dean j Fredericks, as Steve Canyon, must have learned his act ing technique by playing living statues as a boy. 9 p.m., WRC—4. Have Gun, Will Travel—When Paladin brings In an old bank robber, the man’s cohorts give chase to keep the pressure on, and are out to kill. You’ll like Hank Pat- 1 terson as robber Pappy French, and so does Paladin. 9:30 p.m., WTOP—9, Turning Point—"For Better, For Worse.” (A repeat > This was really Bette Davis’ first TV role, and it’s good to see her, pouting and rolling her eyes. She plays tfle part of a liar who is accused of hit-and-run driving and, though she claims she's innocent, she can't get anyone to believe her. 9:30 p.m., WRC—4. Gunsmoke—Standard plot, but good show. A cowboy is ac- _ cused of murder and only Marshal Dillon believes hes innocent. Even hostess Kitty, who usually sides with Di - lon, thinks the marshal is bullheaded and wrong this time. 10 p.m., WTOP—9. Sammy Kaye Show—(Premiere.) Long-time favorite Sammy ’ Kaye steps in tonight to take his place on ABC’s Satur day evening of music. He’s brought with him as delight ful an aaray of standards as we’ve heard in a long time, with "Cuddle Up a Little Closer,” “I’ll Get By,” ‘Mar-: gie,’ “Sweet Sue,” "My Gal Sal” and "Who’s Sorry Now.’ A sample of the best. 10 p m., WMAL 7.
