Takoma Park To make the Japanese fruitcake, you'll need 2 cups sugar. 1 cup butter, 8 eggs beaten separately, 1 cup milk. 3 cups flcwr, 4 tea'spoons baking powder. 1 teaspoon cloves. 1 tea spoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, 1 cup chopped pecans or other nuts and 2 cups raisins. Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolks. Sift dry ingre- dients, add to creamed mix ture alternately with milk. Roll raisins and nuts in flour, add to mixture and fold in beaten egg whites. Bake in four layers. For the filling, use 2 cups sugar, 4 tablespoons flour, lVi cup boiling water, Vi to % cup pineapple, 2 oranges, 1 box coconut or the coconut of your choice. Mix sugar and flour, cut orange and pineapple in small pieces. Cook together about two minutes. Spread between layers, top and sides.
