A-12 THE EVENING STAR Washington, D C., Wednesday, August 10, 1960 Woman, 76, Child Die In Traffic Accidents Traffic accidents in the District yesterday claimed the lives of an eldery Chevy Chase woman and a 3*/i-year-old girl. Mrs. Amanda M. English, 76. of 4740 Bradley boulevard, died early today in Georgetown Hospital of injuries suffered when the car in which she and her husband were riding col lided with a cement truck at Forty-first and Fessenden streets N.W. Her husband. John B. Eng lish. 81. was injured seriously and was listed in fair condition at the same hospital this morn ing. Police said the truck, driven by Reginald F. Bobbitt, 28. of 1205 Blundell road. Falls Church. Va„ struck the side of the English automobile, pushed it into a light pole, and threw both passengers out of the car. Mr. Bobbitt, an employe of the Maloney Concrete Co., 3100 K street N.W., was summoned to appear at a Corporation Counsel’s hearing on August 19. The other fatality yesterday occurred when a child identi fied as Renee Toms, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Toms Police Decide To Keep Clothes Os Traffic Victims Metropolitan 'police officials yesterday said clothes which may be used as evidence in traffic cases will in the future be kept in police custody. Deputy Chief William J. Liverman said the old practice was to store such garments in the District Morgue.
