Now's the Time to Plan
Your Christmas Decorations
Are you beginning to feel
"Christmas-y”? You should!
Santa Claus is warming up
his reindeer or his rocket or
whatever he is using these
days, so you had better begin
planning how to decorate for
a Merry Christmas.
It doesn’t have to be an
elaborate plan or an expen
sive one. In fact, those that
call for ingenuity instead of
dollars often turn out to be
the most fun. Let’s start with
the front door. What are you
going to do this year to let
people know that yours is a
Merry Christmas house?
A whole small Christmas
tree, tied to the knocker and
trimmed with bells fastened
with red ribbons makes a
gay tinkling sound every
time a friend comes to call.
A big red bow at the base
of the tree looks cheery
against a dark green door.
Or cut out the shape erf a
huge boot from shiny red
oilcloth. Tack to the door
and fill it with prickly Christ
mas boughs decorated with
balls that sparkle when the
door is opened. Or hang a
bow-trimmed basket filled
with wrapped 10-cent store
gifts and Christmas greens
on the door and let each de
parting guest take home a
”fun” gift.
Whatever you do, get into
the spirit and Begin now to
.plan. You’ill hear from us
later. We aren’t through with
Christmas by any means!

Dear Mrs. H. B.:
Your sample definitely is
not red. It’s a shrimp or
coral. I think a bold black

Dear Mn. R. H. C.:
You could place a hutch or
tall cabinet with shelves as
a room divider. Fill it with
china and pretty and prac
tical pieces. Face the cabinet
toward the dining area and
use the kitchen side to hang
shiny pots. Or use an attrac
tive shutter or wallpaper
screen. Why not get a vivid
turquoise and black print on
a white background for your
curtains.
