ROY ROGERS
CALLS TURNS
FOR RODEO
SPLASH PARTY
good television
turn deserves an
other try. That's
why Roy Rogers’ underwater
rodeo, a highly diverting
and successful show of last
season, will be done again
this Sunday night on NBC.
“The Second Annual Aqua
rodeo," with Roy and Dale
Evans, his wife, as hosts and
narrators, is not a repeat.
It is a new show done
more ambitiously than the
first, with improved tech
niques in underwater photog
raphy offering more exciting
closeups of the skin-diving
cowboys in action.
Originating at “Marine
land of the Pacific,” the full
hour show in color will pre
sent the underwater cowboys
roping, riding and wrestling
sharks, sea turtles and
whales. Trained porpoises
and seals will provide the
comedy relief for an unusual
presentation.
What about Roy's famous
horse, Trigger?
He'll be tethered out of
camera range. No flippers
for him. It’s not in his
contract.
