Mrs. O'Mahoney Dies; Widow of Senator Mrs. Joseph C. O’Mahoney, 77. widow of the former Demo era tic'Senator from Wyoming, and a newspaper woman, died Friday at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring following a stroke. The former Agnes V. O’Leary, daughter of Anne Byron and Michael K. O'Leary, she was born In West Medford. Mass., and moved to Winchester. Mass., as a small girl. She was educated in the Winchester public schools. Following her graduation from Berkeley Street Academy in Boston, she worked as secre tary of the Women's Educa tional and Industrial Union there. After her marriage in 1913, she and her husband, then a recent graduate of Columbia University, came to Washing ton, where he enrolled at Georgetown University Law School. Moved to Wyoming In 1918 the couple moved to Boulder, Colo., and then to Cheyenne, Wyo., where he worked as a newspaper reporter and city editor before returning to Washington in the post of secretary to the late Senator John B. Kendricks, Democrat of Wyoming. He was appointed Assistant Postmaster General of the United States in 1933 and nine months later was named to the Senate on the death of Senator Kendricks. Mrs. O’Mahoney, a news paper woman herself, wrote a column, "The Wyoming Wom an in Washington.” for 26 an in Washington.” for 26 years. It was syndicated throughout Wyoming. The O’Mahoneys maintained homes in both Washington and Cheyenne during his years in office. Their home here was at the Sheraton-Park Hotel. With Mrs. Taft At the time of her death, Mrs. O'Mahoney made her home with 'her sister, Mrs. George W. McClellan, at the Garfield Apartments, 5410 Connecticut avenue N.W. I James Markham Marshall, Descendant of Chief Justice James Markham Marshall, 72, a direct descendant of Chief Justice John Marshall, died Thursday after surgery In St. Petersburg. Fla. Mr. Marshall, a native of Front Royal, Va., was married to the late Lydia Barton Mar shall Marshall of Markham, Va., who was a distant cousin of her husband and also a descendant of Justice Marshall. After an early life in Front Royal, Mr. Marshall joined the Army as a private and was promoted to lieutenant while serving in France with the American Expeditionary Force. After leaving the service in 1919, Mr. Marshall became an adjudicator in the legal depart ment of the Veterans Bureau In Washington. He retired in 1950. Mr. and Mrs. Marshall made their home in the Clarendon section of Arlington before moving to Ditchley, Va. When Mrs. Marshall died in 1957, Mr. Marshall moved to St. Petersburg. O’MAHONEY She was a member of the Senate Wives Club and during World War n was active in welcoming servicemen to the Nation’s Capital. Mrs. O’Mahoney and Mrs. Robert A. Taft, wife of the late Republican Senator from Ohio, were often seen at Union Sta tion serving hot coffee to young men coming lntd Washington. She had been Instrumental in organizing one of the first little theater groups in Chey enne and was a member of the Wyoming Country Club there. Mrs. O’Mahoney and her late husband were active members of St. Thomas Apostle Ro man Catholic Church at 2665 Woodley road N.W. They had no children of their own but raised those of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Doherty. Their nephew, Col. Paul Do herty of La Jolla, Calif., and niece, Mrs. Vincent L. Sullivan of 711 Wallace drive. Palls Church, were orphaned in early childhood. Mrs. ©Mahoney leaves her sister and the nephew and niece. Funeral services will be held at 10 am. tomorrow at St. ’ Thomas Apostle Chinch. Burial l will be in Cheyenne on Wednes day. He leaves a sister. Mrs. Botts Reid of Front Royal, Va.; a brother, Robert M. Marshall of Laurel, Md.: a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Wilkinson of Tampa, Fla., and four grandchildren. After cremation ln Bt. Mrs. Bulman, 99, Worker in 2 Wars For Red Cross Mrs. Julia Miller Bulman, 99, died yesterday at her home at 3 Arkendale road, Alexandria. Mrs. Bulman. who was born October 29,1864, was the oldest living member of National Pres byterian Church. During World War I and World War 11, Mrs. Bulman worked extensively for the American Red Cross.
