, Twenty-five families fled for
their lives in a fire in which twen
ty firemen were injured and. five
children overcome by 'smoke-in
four buildings at 501 to 531 Ved

A CHILD MARRIAGE MAY
'BE ANNULLED
Minneapolis, Nov. 27. The
parents of Mrs. Gladys Van Nest
Smith, 15, are recovering from
surprise at the news that he girl
had been married Sept. 2 in Hud
son, Wis, to Arthur -W. Smith,
18, student at Notre -Dame col
lege. t tl was intimated today that
steps might be taken to have the
marriage annulled
The couple met in Minneapolis
during the groom's vacation last
summer. They had been acquaint
ed but a few- weeks before the
marriage. -The girl gave her age
as 20 and Smith as 21.
Immediately after the marriage
Smith returned to college, and
Mrs. Shiith entered high school
here under her maiden name, and
they managed to keep the mar
riage secret until Mrs. Smith was
confronted by an elder sister
whose suspicions had 1 been
aroused.

In Connecticut dogs can now
ride on the cars.
Hogs have been allowed on the
cars for sometime.

However, it is provided that
Connecticut dogs must ride with
the motorman. They have cars
made a-purpose for hogs.
