Lew Shanks, mayor of Indianapolis, is always doing some
thing unusual. After breaking up the corners on potatoes and
turkeys by importing large quantities and selling them to the peo
ple at cost, he has turned his attention to public playgrounds.
The picture shows him making the first.;' trip down' a new
municipal toboggan slide. . But it is far from indicating that .his
