marriage would be a Happy one?
B. M: i
It really does seem that the
young woman's wishes ought to
receive some consideration. Hav
ing robbed her of purity and in
"nocence, the least you can do in
the name of, justice is to marry
She can hardly be expected to
understand your natural mascu
line scrupples about chastity in a
wife, and what constitutes a
"fault" in a girl betrayed by love
any more than you can under
stand what terrible sacrifice of
self women make for men they
The same devotion which
caused her "afirlt" will doubtless
make her a splendid wife, and
probably this marriage will prove1
just as happy as any other, if the
law of compensation holds in
your case.
Once more, will girls who are
tempted in the name of love read
how the man tries invariably to
escape, and assumes as his in
alienable right the double stand
ard of morals exemption for the
man and damnation for the wom
an? Letters of this .kind are not
published for anybody's passing
entertainment, but for the en
lightenment of girls.
Am bashful and never can make
the acquaintance of nice girls,
though I am 31. Have a good bus
iness and would like to marry, but
have never been popular with the
sort of a girl who would make a
good wife. Please advise. B. M.
Instead of avoiding girls, seeK
their society if' not alone then
in company with other young
men until you have overcome
your self-consciousness to some
extent. In conservation endeav
or to make the other person talk;
look out fer the comfort of oth
ers wherever you may be, and
keep your mind off from your
own short-comings.
