You'd never know it was a feu dal town, to look at it. It's not at all like the feudal towns you read about. It's a hustling, up-to-date place of 2,500- people, the center of a rich agricultural district, and it looks like any other thriving Texas town of its size. It isn;t walled or moated. And there's no donjoned and turreted castle there for its over-lord to live in. Nevertheless its over-lord is there, and on the job all the time. His name is Lon Hill. He owns Harlinger and all the land there abouts in fact, all the land be tween there and Brownsville. He is worth $6,000,000. He has twelve automobiles.
