JAIL FOR HEARST THUG
Irving J. Wilson, Hearst thug,
was fined $200 and sentenced to
six months in the Bridewell by
Judge Gemmill today.
Wilson is one of the thugs
Hearst brought here from New
York, after he locked out the
pressmen".
Hearst gave Wilson a special
policeman's badge and a gun, and
Wilson naturally thought he was
running the,town. '
He lived first at the Stratford
ftoter, but was-requested to leave
there before a month was up.
Wilson Was too much for the
Stratford to stomach.
'Wilson then moved to the Paris
hotel, State 'and Harrison streets,
which was a. place quite suited to
his needs and desires. The owner
of the Paris hotel was sent to jail
for contributing to the delinquen

Wilson thought he .would con

few Chicago girls. And on the
evening of June 27, heby threats,
induced Alice Daley, 14 years old,
to come1 with him to his room in
the Paris.
The girl did not wish to go
with Wilson. But Wilson, being
a Hearst thug, wore a special po

the girj the badge, and threaten
ed to arrest her unless she did as
he wanted.
So Alice Daley went to his
room with him, and probably her
whole life has been, ruined.
Both Prosecuting Attorney
Fetzer and Judge Gemmill pro
nounced the case the worst that
they ever had heard of.

gamblers was forcibly indicated
by an attempt last night to enter
the apartments-of Assemblyman
Aaron J. Levy, the attorney for
Libhy & Shapiro, owners of the
death car, and who have made
damaging statements about the
occupants of the auto.
Levy was out when the men en
tered his rooms. Marks of jim
mies on doors and windows show
ed how entrance had been gained.
No valuables were missing.
The police hunt today shifted
to Paterson, N. J., where "dago
Frank" is being sought. Pater
son is his regular hang-out when
the police are after him.
