Remedy for Heartburn.
Heartburn is one of the signals
which the stomach gives that it
has been overloaded or supplied
with some food material which
cannot be digested. The sensible
1 person who believes in prevention
rather than cure heeds this first
warning and seeks a simple rem
edy at once.
A corrective which will bring
almost immediate relief, is com
posed of thg following mixture:
Juice of one orange, water and
lump of sugar to flavor; and in
proportion to the acidity of the
orange, about half a teaspoonful
of baking , soda. Dissolve the
sugar in the water, add the
orange juice. Then put in the
soda. Stir and drink while ef
fervescing. Take the mixture half an hour
before breakfast for three or four
days in succession.
