Escanaba, Mich., Aug.- 30. A
message just received from Wat
son says that the illness of U. S.
Senator Isaac Stephenson of Wis
consin has been greatly exagger
ated and that his condition is not
The first message said the sen
ator had suffered a stroke of
heart failure. A special train,
with physicians, specialists and
nurses, was rushed to Watson.
Stephenson and a number of
friends are 15 miles in the wilder
ness on a fishing trip. Horse,
travel in the district is impossible
because of dense undergrowth.
The specialists and nurses will
have to make the 15-mile trip on
The. last message says Steph
enson is merely suffering from a
bad cold and stomach trouble,
that he did not have any heart at
tack and that he expects to con
tinue his fishing trip. Stephenson
is 84 years old.

Arrested the Victim.
The telephone in the police sta
tion rang. (
The desk sergeant answered.
The call was from a new police
man on the beat. He said :
"A man has been roobed down
here and I've got orie of them !"
"Which one have you?" asked
the sergeant.
The reply came back: "The
man ..that was robbed!"
