You will find that the father of that girl has his nose to the grindstone all the time. The girl would expect her husband to do the same. "When I find a girl who looks good to me I immediately begin to pay attention to mother, and so far I have not found a mother who can measure up with my ideal my own mother ! When I do I'll probably buy a license if the daughter will have me." While this chap is rather cold blooded, there is a lot of good sense in what he says. X HlHty's J PRE YOU COTW FIRST CfllL I MARRY HY MOTHER BURNS TO DEATH TRYING TO SAVE BABY A mother's effort to save her baby from a burning cottage was ended by death for both last night. The mother was Mrs. Mar garet Brown. She went to the store and left her two children, George and Stanley, alone in their home, 2622 Ward street. When she returned the little home was wrapped in flames. Dashing by several policemen she entered the smoke-filled hallway and emerged a few moments later with her oldest boy, George. In spite of the efforts of the firemen to stop her. she went once more into the cottage, by this time almost gutted by the fire, frantically calling her baby's name. An hour afterward, when the fire had been extinguished, fire men found the charred remains of the mother in a corner of the bedroom, holding in her arms the bodv of her babv. Father (to his old friend's pret ty daughter) Good-bye, my dear. I won't kiss you; I have such a cold. His Son (with alac rity) Can I do anything for you; father ?
