After all, there is nothing to
wonder at in Bill Rockefeller's
contempt for the United States
government at Washington.
Bill is worth hundreds of mil
lions, most of which he stole, and
he knows that the government at
Washington is only a govern
ment on paper, a make-believe
government which exists largely
in histories of the United States
that we read when we are chil
dren in school.
Bill knows that the, real gov
ernment is located in Wall street,
that Morgan is king and Bill is
one of the grand dukes.
Bill knows that his old pal,
Johnny Archbald, one of the
grand dukes of Standard Oil,
makes a business of owning U. S.
senators, judges and things like
that, and telling them what the
real government in Wall street
has decided that the paper gov
ernment at Washington must do.
Having bought and paid for so
many senators and congressmen,
Bill naturally feels that Congress
has a lot of gall asking him to tes
tify before a congressional com
mittee when he doesn't want to.
So he packs up his luggage and
sails away on his private yacht.
And Uncle Sam can go suck his
thumb, or twiddle his two thumbs
or go jump in the sea.
And just for that Uncle Sam
had better watch out, or Bill and
Jawn D. and J. Pierp. and the rest
of the kings, czars and grand
dukes will have Congress pinched
and sent off to the Leavenworth
pen without bail
