HENCE THE EXPRESSION,
"SOLID IVORY"
Milwaukee, Wis., Jan. 27.
John Michelson is the original
ivory skull, steel dome and bone
head. If he wasn't he would be
a dead man today.
John quarreled with his sweet
heart today. She couldn't see
John with a spyglass. John hand
ed out the usual "Good-bye, for
ever," conversation, and went to
his room to get his ' gun. John
was tired of life.
He found the gun, placed it
against his head and pulled the
trigger. His relatives called the
coroner. John was taken to the
morgue and a physician probed
for the bullet. The probe struck
something in the wound. The'
bullet, a .38 caliber, was found
just under the skin. In a mo
ment John "came to."
His only injury is a slight
scalp wound. The bullet was bad
ly bent.
