Washington, March 5. Presi
dent Wilson sent his cabinetjiom
inations?t9 the Senate today. The
advisers selected are:
William-J. Bryan of Nebraska,
secretary of sfete.
William G. McAdoo of New
York, secretaryof the treasury.
Ilindley M. Garrison of New
Jersey, secretary of war".
James C. McReynolds of Ten
nessee, attorney general.
Albert S. Burleson of Texas,
postmaster general.
Josephus Daniels, of North'
Carolina, secretary of the navy.
t Franklin K. Lane of California,
secretary of'the interior.
David R Houston of Missouri,
secretary of agriculture.
William C. Redfield of New
York, secretary of commerce.
Willliam B. Wilson of Pennsyl
vania, secretary oflabor.
A short meeting of the new
cabinet was' -held in the White
House this morning. At its con
clusion Secretary Bryan an-,
nounced that no business had
been transacted.
Vice President Marshall was
not present. President Wilson
has not accepted his proposed
plan of having the vice president
present at all cabinet meetings.
The Senate confirmed Wilson's,
cabinet nominations today.
He was a country man. In fact,
he had never been away from the
village in which he was born. But
now he had decided to give up the
quiet country life and go to the
city with his donkey. When heaivr
rived at the station he 'asked s
porter where he must put the don
key. "Put him at the back," replied
the porter; meaning, of course, in
the "car used for such purposes.
Now, the faVmer knew, nothing
about shipping animals, so he tied
his donkey to the rear of the train.
This done, 'he settled-himself in
the smoking1 car, alongside an
other traveler.
They had been traveling about
half an hbur when the farmer venr -tured
the remark:
"What speed are .we traveling

"Oh, about forty miles an
