Dr. Friedrich Franz Friedmann, the Berlin tuberculosis expert, now in this county to demonstrate the value of what he claims is a cure for con sumption, has been subjected to bitter criticism in New York. The medical, profession of that city, it is charged by Friedmarin's friends, have put many obstacles in his way, interfering with his plans to make a thorough public test of his serum. The Day Book4 asked Dr. Friedmann for a statement, and this is his answer, written in German in his own hand. Translated, it reads as follows: "I am on the field of battle, and I am sure that our cause will win. Here I stay and fight!" b o PREPARING FOR "PLAY BALL.'
