Champ Clark told the Women's
Democratic League of Washington
that if women are going into politics
they should not ge,t the idea that
Congressmen can be bought
Right, Champ! Let not women
get the obsession that politics is sim
ply a new thing on which to spend
money! May the time never come
when wifey puts on hat and cloak
and sets out to purchase a cheap
statesman. Man already has all the
bargain counter troubles he can well
carry. If women have got to corrupt
Congressmen, ! then do it wjtfx
their beauty and other legitimate
wiles of their sex.
Mr. Clark may never be President,
but ne can win imperishable fame
and undying gratitude by steering
the ladies away from policies that
will increase the cost of politics.
