K. Thaw, care of Matteawan Asy lum, have convinced police of identity of man under ar rest here. New York, Aug. 19, Each hour brings fresh rumors that Harry Thaw, millionaire madman, who escaped from the Mattewan Asylum last Sunday morning, has been seen by different persons in different parts of the coun try, and one report has it that he was taken from a .train' at Colebrook, N. H., and placed under arrest at Coaticook, Quebec., but so far none of .these rumors have been verified! Evelyn Nesbit Thaw is also still expressing, in hourly interviews, he fear that Harry has escaped only that he may "finish" her, and crowds are turned away from the doors of Hammerstein's Theater, where Evelyn is doing a vaudeville turn.
