When the management of a big' vaudeville circuit like Keith's issues
orders to comedians to cut out all anti-suffrage jokes on the stage, it
seems to be a sign that public sentiment is-generally aroused oh that sub
ject throughout the country, and aroused inlfavbr of women's fight to vote.
When jokes on woman's suffrage were sprung on the vaudejrflle stage,
several years ago, they usually got a good laugh, but now, it would appears
from the order' mentioned, they are falling fiat.
The attitude of a mixed audience in a theater is a fairly good test of
