YOUNG IN SCHOOL MEMBERS DEAL Mayor Harrison yesterday upheld Mrs. Young by naming six school trustees. Three of the members ap- H pointed succeed themselves, two are Pi t-hfi memhfirs annninted to take the place of the ousted trustees, but or dered removed by the court and one is a women, Mrs. William E. Galla gher, 4157 Berkeley avenue. The appointments are as follows: Harry A. Ldpsky, to succeed him self. Jacob W. Loeb, to succeed himself. Mrs. John MacMahon, to succeed herself. Joseph A. Holpuch, to succeed Jas. B. Dibelka. John W. Eckhart, to succeed Henry W. Huttmann. Mrs. William E. Gallagher, to suc ceed John C. Harding. The terms of the retiring members expire July 17. o o C. E. WHITE, CONTRACTOR BOSS, SHOOTS FORMER EMPLOYE Clarence E. White, teaming con tractor, shot and seriously wounded George, Murphy, a former employe, at the rear of 116 Washington blvd., last night Murphy was wounded in three places and his chances of re covery is slight. White has a reputation as a gun man. Less than 6 months ago he allot and killed Remsen Harris, a ne gro, 18 N. Morgan street, and has a record going back a dozen years. White was found biding in a clothes closet when arrested. He is said to have a pull with a West Side 1 boss who .has protected him in his previous troubles. o o RAILROAD MEN FAVOR STRIKE UNLESS DEMANDS SUCCEED . The strike vote of the engineers and firemen of the western railroads has been completed. Ninety per cent of the vote cast favors a strike unless the demands are granted. The companies claim that conces sion to the men would increase wages $33,000,000 a year.
