Washington, July 9. The White
House is sHent regarding whether
Pres. Wilson will change his trust
program as a result of-the confer
ence of an hour and a half yesterday
between the president and represent
atives of "Big Business" from Chi
cago. One of the points raised by the

which demands annual reports from
corporations to the federal trade
commission, would prove impractic

EIGHT MISSING OF THE POLAR
Ottawa, Ont, July 9. That at
least 8 men of Steffanson's Canadian
Arctic expedition left the steamer
Karluk party after the boat sank in
the Arctic and have not been heard
from since was report received from
Cap't Bartlelt, via Nome, Alaska.
Feared they perished. The party in
cluded Henry Bouchat. anthropolog
ist, of Paris, and Dr. Allister Forbes
McKay, surgeon of the expedition.
Bartlett and several of his party
are suffering severely from frozen
hands and feet.
UNCLE SAM'S GRAIN REPORT
Uncle Sam gave out his annual re
port on the food supply of the nation
930,000,000 bushels of spring and
winter wheat are on hand. Corn sup
ply is 2,868,000,000 bushels. Oats
amount to 1,201,000,000 bushels.
Rye crop is 46,000,000 bushels. Bar
ley amounts to 211,000,000 bushels.
Altogether the five grains total 5,
256,000,000 bushels, which is 705,-
000,000 more bushels than were rais
ed last year.
