of the shooting of Birns when he saw
one man limping along assisted by
two other men.
His right shoe was off and the of
ficer noticed he was bleeding from a
wound in the foot He asked for an
explanation.
"I was down near that shooting
scrape at 22d and Michigan," an
swered the wounded man, "and I got
shot by a stray bullet I want medi
cal attention."
