BANANAS MAKE GOOD PIE FOR

When fresh fruit is scarce and ex
pensive, a pie made of bananas is
ah economical dessert. To make the
pie, bake a pie shell golden brown,
slice 4 ripe bananas, covering as they
are sliced with 2-3 of a cup of pul
verized sugar, add 2 teaspoons of
lemon juice and turji into pie shell.
Whip y2 pint of heavy cream, add
2 tablespoons of sugar, spread over
top tf the bananas and serve at once.
BROWN CREAM TAFFY
To 2 pounds of brown sugar add 1
teaspoon of vinegar, butter size of
egg, and y2 cup of water.
Boil al ltogether until it is hard,
when a little is dropped in cold wa
ter; add 4 drops of extract of orange,
pour onto well greased pan; when
cool enough to handle pull until
