TODAY'S LENTEN DISH

. . Codfish Balls. Soak 1" pound of
codfish 3 hours in tepid water. Peel
and slice 1 pound of potatoes and put
over the fire with fish, and water to
cover. Boil until potato is soft; drain;
separate fish from potato and pick in
to fine shreds. Mash the potato while
hot and add the shredded fish and
beat. Add 2 tablespoonfuls of butter,
2 eggs and 1 teaspoonful of minced
Whisk all together till very light,
form into balls and set in cool place
three hours. Fry in deep not fat and
serve with egg sauce.
