Surface Lines Indicate It Will Fight' in Court if Men Are

Jas. M. Sheean, company's repre
sentative on the arbitration board,
who has withdrawn from the arbitra
tion board, told Hoyne this today.
Hoyne and Thompson are going to
pay no attention to Sheean's action,
but give the men an increase that will
approximate 3, perhaps 4, cents an
Jwur and win at the same time re
duce the wage grading period front

hearings protesting the men should

jected to Mayor Thompson taking
outside testimony. The mayor had
been interviewing car men to give
light in determining what should be

If the company goes into court, the
principle of arbitration will be given
a death blow.
