the number of-thread to use must be
determined by the thickness of the
coronation cord intended for the pur
pose. For insertion for towel ends, scarfs
or pillow cases-use No. 3,570 corona
tion braid; No. 3&"cordonnet special
crochet cotton; size 10 crochet hook.
The d. c s. is the. only stitch. This
is crocheted ovr the braid and is
grouped in three double crochet
stitches to each loop of cord. If a
finer crochet thread is used, one or
two single chain stitches must be
crocheted between the double crochet
stitches In order to keep the pattern
even. In the given cut two rows of
d. c. s. are used.
This illustration makes everything
so plain that anyone who can crochet
the simple stitches can make this
lace. It will be seen that two rows
of the same stitch and pattern is used
on each side of the twisted braid.

A special train bearing Geraldine
Farrar, famous prima donna, and her
party of relatives, maids, hair dress
ers, managers, etc., etc., arrived in
Los Angeles recently, where the fa
mous singer participated in the mo
vies for the Lasky films.
Miss Farrar went directly to the
Lasky studios, where she is engaged
at the magnificent sum of $2 a min
ute to apepar In three or four big pic
tures. Miss Farrar declares many o'f the'
notable singers have been waiting for
some one to break the ice and it will
not be long before others follow suit
She is the first great singer to per
petuate herself In the film.
