will place his title at greater risk than
at any time since he won it from Abe
Attell, nearly three years ago.
Henry Bletzer, manager of Chaney,
has offered to give Kilbane $5,500 if
he will go into a 20-round bout Jim

the offer will be accepted, but the
money will have to be posted before

Chaney stands out as the best of
the featherweight contenders. He
hits harder than the champion and
is just as game. He is not as fast
on his feet none of them are but
he uses a different style. Kilbane

Chaney always bores straight ahead.
Kilbane knows more about the game.
Chaney is short and stock, a mid
get compared to the lanky Kilbane.
Above the waist he is the biggest lit
tle man the ring has produced in
years. In the arms and shoulders he
is built like a wrestler. His left arm
is like the arm of a blacksmith.
The Maryland boy is lefthanded
and does most of his hitting with the
left, standing with his right arm and
right foot forward. He has score 37
knockouts in 58 fights and not half
of his opponents were able to stick
five rounds with him.
Chaney has the most deadly short
arm punch since the days when Au
relio Herrera, the little Mexican,
knocked opponents cold with a wal
lop that traveled about six inches.
