tunity. An instance of this can be
seen in the war on the teachers'
union. Good folks who should know
better are led to believe that fighting
the teachers' union is fighting the
Catholics. Another instance is the
case of the postoffice employes who
have two organizations, one affiliat
ed with the A. F. of L., the other
harping about the union men being
Socialists, thereby misleading the
Catholics'.
To get together in one great
movement is the thing, but how can
that be accomplished. There are
bodies of government workers
snobs, I might say who consider
themselves superior to workers in
the trades and feel they have noth
ing in common with them. Other
groups, too numerous to mention,
stand alone, just why is beyond me.
Possibly their leaders prefer being
large toads in small ponds, etc.
Strikes in England were of little
avail until the isolated bodies came
under a common head. Now they
get what they go after and get it
quickly. Unless our workers get to
gether they won't get anywhere.
