Some studios have tryout days.
You apply to the employing director
and tell him your ambitions. He
tells you to come back on Monday,
if that happens to be tryout day. You
come back. You are summoned, all
trembly and nervous, before another
director and he decides at a glance
whether you are worth giving a cam
era test If you are lucky you are
asked to return the next day to face
The next day you find many other
girls also waiting for the tryout You
line up before the camera and the di
rector says something like this:
