The collar of the moment is no
mere neck fixing, it's an elaborate af
fair of many frills and streamers, and
it flaunts a price tag that may lead
you to decide to invest in a new
gown rather than a new collar.

of an afternoon at the matinees and

beauty and worth the money you

It was at an after-the-matinee tea"
that my pen caught this Elizabethan
ruff of cream color thread lace. The
shape of the upper collar is the dis
tinguishing thing about it, for the
collars that be blooming in spring
will bloom with this upstanding,
slightly boned frill.
The ribbon streamer is taupe color
satin, matching in color and material
the close-fitting turban of satin. This,
by the way, is important the har
mony, of color between the streamer

perfectly gowned woman omit it
