Add to the fancy shapes of the sea son, the use of designs and metallic colors blues, browns, greens and you get an effect in masculine modes this year rivaling that of milady's painted bonnets. The finest braids the woven straw used to come from Belgium and Switzerland. The war has cut off this source of supply from the American manufacturers, and this year's straw hats are made almost exclusively from Chinese and Italian straws.
