The skirt is the design of Miss Ida
Schnall, who got the idea of the
gown from the anxiety to avoid delay
and trouble in changing costumes
when going on the ice. She is
shown in the pictures above, at left,
wearing the skirt as she enters the
rink; at right, during the change,
and center, after the change.
The skirt is fastened down the
side by snaps. To change, it is
drawn around to the front, un
snapped and each side is fastened
around the legs by snaps, convert
ing the skirt into a pair of panta
loons. o o
Don't argue with your spaghetti.
It won't do a bit of good. Not a bit.
Spaghetti is an obstinate, contrary
. food. You can't tell it a thing. You
might as well try to reason with a
plate of rattlesnakes.
There is more pure cussedness in
ten yards of spaghetti than in any!
other product sold by the lineal foot,
with the possible exception of noo
dles and barbed wire.
There's no excuse for spaghetti
acting the way it does. Food can be
rambunctious without being hateful.
Head lettuce does it Why can't spa
ghetti? Something ought to be done about
this. And something shall be. The
time will come when some brave
man will meet this temperamental
Italian worm on its own ground and
But so long as unfettered spa
ghetti is given the freedom of its dish
there is no relief in sight.
