AIN'T NATURE WONDERFUL!
(" The Potato
A few years ago if somebody took
the subject, "Potato," and wrote an
article on it he would be a candidate
for the reason refinery and every
body would push heavy for the liter
Bu ttoday everybody is kowtowing
to the potato stronger than the
neighborhood kids are to Eddie and
his new bike. Yfhy, say, we can re
ineraber the grocery hiker's yodel,
"Gro-crees!" as he came up the back
stairs with a pound of liver under
his -wing and a bushel of spuds easin'
against his neck. Every other step
you'd hear a murphy fall out of the
basket and fox trot down the stairs.
You didn't lose sleep over it.
Then he came in and headed for
the pantry, over would go the .bas
ket and the humbles would tumble
with an unmusical sound into the po
tato box. A half dozen of them would
roll out of the pantry and steer for
under the stove. Did you .scream?
No you did not.
WeJl, we don't want to take the
joy out of your life by recalling them
times, but ain't it ? But today
focus your glims on the potato.

alds, mashed pearls, boiled rubies,
sapphires au gratin, etc. Sirloin
steak, mushrooms, caviar, etc., are
