will sigh with relief when the Chi
cago Motor Bus Co. starts bus serv
ice from Sheridan road and D.evon
av, to loop on ten-minute schedules
from 6 a. m. until 1:30 a. m.
Plans of the new concern contem
plates a dedication of the service at
noon with former Gov. Edward P.
Dunne, Mayof Thompson and Lin
coln Park and South Park commis
sioners participating, at offices of
Lincoln Park commissioners, Clark
and Center.
Busses will operate on Sheridan
road from Devon av. to DiVersey
blvd., through Lincoln park to the
Lake Shore drive to North av., over
Lake Shore drive "to Lincoln park
way, west on Ontario to Rush, south
on Rush to Michigan and Randolph,
west on Randolph to LaSalle, south
to Adams, east on Adams to State,
north to Randolph and back north
over same route.
It had been expected 50 busses
would be put in operation when the
service started, but the freight ter
minal congestion delayed delivery of
machines. They will be put into op
eration as they are received.
SOME EXPENSIVE SUIT!
Until Wm. Deneau pays for his lat
est suit of clothes he won't have to
pay any alimony. The suit will cost
him $550.
The reason is, Deneau told Judge
Thomson, that he is a diver and he
can't make any money until he gets
a new diving suit. He owes his wife
$200 alimony.

WITHDRAWN FOR PRESENT
Plans for the big wooden taber
nacle in the Cubs' park, where Billy
Sunday was scheduled to save souls
with the danger of a fire and panic
hanging over the heads of his listen
ers, were withdrawn yesterday from
the city council building committee
by the association of church folk who
first presented them to the council.
Aid. Pretzel, chairman of the com
mittee, said that the scheme was
withdrawn until plans for a structure
more nearly fireproof can be drawn. . .
This is believed to be the last attempt
the Billy Sunday enthusiasts will
make to get thousands of Chicago
ans in an inflammable building of the
type erected in other cities for the
revival
The council was asked to pass an
order directing the building commis
sioner to allow the erection of the
building after he had refused a per
mit on the grounds that it was un
safe to crowd thousands of people
into a building which might so easily
catch fire.
The order, disguised so completely
that only a few aldermen recognized
it, was stopped, however, before pas
sage and was sent to the building
committee for a hearing. Rather
than try this, the church people de-cided-to
improve their plans and con
form to- the fire law's in their attempt
to save the souls of Chicago's poor;
workingmen.

POLICE SEEK HOTEL ROBBER
A hotel burglar who hid in a closet
in the room of Mrs. Harry Powell in
the Arlington hotel, 839 N. Dearborn,
last night, beat her, tied her up and
threw her under the bed. Then he
set out to ransack the room when
Mr. Powell knocked on the door. He
escaped by way of the fire escape,
which the police think he used to en
ter the room.
When Mr. Powell and hotel em
ployes broke down the door they
found Mrs. Powell unconscious.
