BANK LIABLE CENTRAL TRUST IS NOT Springfield, III., April 19. Stock holders of the defunct La Salle Street Trust and avings Bank, who were stockholders when the bank col lapsed, are liable for double the amount of their stock in payment of claims against the bank. This was the ruling of the court today in the now famous case. Thecourt further rules that stock holders who saw the crash coming and got out from under are not lia ble. The Central Trust Company of Chicago is not liable, the court holds, for any amount of the $1,250,000 which it issued in cashier's checks to the La alle street concern. The door of the senate naval affairs commit tee in the Capitol building was "jim mied" during the night. Early today the door was found standing open. Police believe the "job" was the work of spies seeking information on naval plans. An in vestigation is under way. The force of guards about the Capitol was questioned.
