Major Markoe served in the World War in the Polish Engineer Ccrps, in which capacity he had a wide range of experience in aerial photography and motion picture work. WOOD SEEKS SPEED MARK NEW YORK CITY, N. Y„ Oct. 31.—Gar Wood has indicated that he will take his British international trophy winner. Miss America IX, to Miami Beach, Fla., for an attempt to regain the world motor speed record, now held by the late Sir Henry Segrave, according to an announcement made by the Ameri can Power Boat Association. In addition to his trials, races will be held for 151 hydroplanes, runabouts and outboards, competing for the Col. E. H. R.
