San Juan Buys Four Catch
es for Fresh Shipment
to Seattle
Eight cents a pound, first grade,
j and 5 cents a pound, second grade,
1931 rules, were the prices paid
I for halibut yesterday afternoon and
this forenoon on the auction of the
Juneau Fish Exchange. Thirteen
thousand, nine hundred pounds
comprised the quantity, all bought
by the San Juan Fishing and Pack
ing Company.
The Vivien, Capt. Charles Larsen,
unloaded 2.000 pounds; the Ida II.,
Capt. John Sonderland, 3,600; the
Dagny, Capt. Andrew Brensdal. 6,
000, and the Fane, Capt. Ole Johan
son, 2,300.
I All four catches will be shipped
| to Seattle on the steamship Ad
| mirsa! Rogers, sailing south to
' night.
| A quantity of fresh salmon will
also be taken to Seattle by the Ad
! miral Rogers.
The schooner North, Capt. Nels
Rorvik, from Ketchikan, took bait,
| and the Hyperian, Capt. Oscar
Oberg, a boat of the Juneau fleet,
i took bait and ice, and left for the
| halibut banks today.
I The Hyperien had just returned
i to Juneau from Prince Rupert, B.
C., where she sold her last catch.

SEATTLE, May 15.—Nine vessels
with 99,800 pounds of halibut ar
rived yesterday and sold the fish
for 6 and 9Vi cents.
