Therefore sealed bids will be received by the undersigned clerk of Mie city of Seattle, on or be fore Monday, November 2, A. D 1891, at 5 • clock p. m. and when the board of aldermen and th« house of delegates in joint session assembled on sold day at 7:AO o'clock p. in ,at the new city ball, will publicly open and read such bids and pro ceed to determine the highest bidder. Bald bids must he accompanied by a certified check, payable to the order or the city comptroller, for an amount equal to at least 10 per cent, of the amount bid. and the amount of said check shall be forfeited and paid to said city in case the success ful bidder shall fall to pay the amount of his bid within thirty (30) days alter the acoeptauce of the same. Some very fine apples were noticed in the market and dealers say the supply of choice stock is abundant to meet the demand. The war between Arbuckle and Mo kaska coffees continues and another half cent was knocked off the price of each brand yester day.
