At Rum Creek the full quota of 355 men went in before 7 a. m , and the De Araiita are Jubilant. At Sandy cr-ek there is no charge in tie situa.lon since Monday. There !f a report that the New York and Cleveland Gas Coal Company h is under considera tion a plan that is entirety new a* at>- pHed to coal mining, via: Sb;»rtng prof:s annually with the miners. The plan will not be put into effect, however, unfit after the strike. l*e Arnilt. wnen seen regar 3- ing the proposed plan, said he would rather not talk about it at present, as it was not fully decided upon. The fact just made public that the men at work in the Spring Hill mine of I>< ts» sttr. Boyd & Co. were getting 'J-* cents. has further complicated the stri'c • situation. This rate ha* been paid sine; July 16. There are ninety-nine men at work in this mine and 200 mine wagons are mined every day. Help for the Haafrry. The last movement of the strikers indi cates that the miners' leaders have aban doned all hope of drawing the coke repion into the strike and have adopted a plan of using the cokers to assist th» strikers in a more profitable way. Committees have been in the coke region all week col lecting money and provisions. The heart quarters of the district officials of the United Mine Workers in this city are still besieged with piteous appeals for aid from the starving women and children of the striking miners. More than SI,OOO worth of provisions have been distributed the last two days and the requests for help are far In rxress of the means to rcsinind. Around the Uunola mine and along the Wheeling division of the Baltimore 1% Ohio railroad the suffering seems to l>e the wor>t. In many homes there seems to bo notWng but dry bread to eat, and in gone cases none. A large meeting was held at Cuncgis burg today, where both the Boone and Allison mines have resumed operations in full. Sew JtMin of Are Crowned. The striking miners who were formerly employed by the New York and Cleve land Qas foal Company met this after noon and formed a permanent organiza tion. and appointed a coniniltte« from oach mine to take charge of the strike at those mines. Following the organiza tion they attended a meeting at Turtle <*reek addressed by Mrs. Jones, of Chi cago, at which 3,000 miners and th»!r wives were present from the different sec tions of the district. The feature of the rne» ting was the crowning of Emma Haas with a wreath of daisies by Mr*. Jones, who presented her to the miners as the "Joan of Arc of America." This is the PI-year-old cripple who came into promi nence through firing a pistol as the miners marched past her home on their daily visits to the mines.
