FALL CITY, July .Ith, 1870. Kl>. IxiKI.LIOEN'I KR This was the happiest gathering we e\ er had out here, in fact, a success in every respect. Crowds «if people from the Lower Soo qualruie came up tho day previous and took up their quartan* among the neighbors ucar the picnic grounds. On the Fourth, all tho people from the prairie and the settlers around the Falls came to celebrate tho day. At 12 o'clock Uut'us Stearns, the president of the day, called the assemblage to order. Mr. llatter led in prayer. After the , reading of tho Declaration of Inde pcndence by Mr. Stearns, owing to ihe sudden illness of Key. Mr. McMillan, the chosen orator of the day, Justice j Janicke. of Tolt Precinct, was called upon to deliver the oration. Messrs. l*oyc« Ac Stearns followed, and Mr. Harrington closed by a coat, humerous speech. I counted •50 persons on the ground when the procession was formed, Mr. Harrington at the head of the column playing one of those patriotic airs dear to the Americau heart, lead the people to tables set cut, and supplied in a way which reflects the highest credit to the taste and generosity of the ladies who hail the matter in charge. A ehtir of ladies and gentlemen filled the interlude with songs and national airs. Towards evening the lovers of the dance repaired to the school house where dancing was kept up until two o'clock. Other celebrations, no doubt, have been more brilliant than our«, but none more patriotic. J. HOTEL ARRIVALS, St. w RXOLAXD. 0 tjoivlwin, John I-aw ton, Port BlakP ly: M McMabon, W Maddock*.
