report forthwith the testimony in the im
peachment case. The chairman of the Com
mittee immediately collected hi! manuscripts
and had them piled on his desk in order, at
the proper lime, to report to tile call, but a
resolution ol Representative Covode, re
quiring the re|»rt ot the minority to lie
(muled in the testimony intervened, and the
House, pending its cousideration, adjourned
to November 'Jlsl so the resolution went
over several copies of printed testimnoy had
found their way into the bands of corres
pondents. lint alter the adjournment, so
far as possible, the Itadical* having held
meetings and declared that in view of the
facts which transpired in the House, the in
