IN 2 TRANSACTIONS 'Hast 138th Street Apartment House Sold by Beinhauer Estate. Loon S. Altmayer and Chr. Volzlng v- Son., Inc., sold to M. H. Rothschild for Mrs. Dina Beinhauer, as executrix ot the Beinhauer estate, the five story apartment house with two stores 387 Kast 138th street, west of Willis ave nue and near the United States post of fice. The property, 26x100, has been in the hands of the estate for about twenty years. The same brokers negotiated a j lifst mortgage of 321,000 for seven years on the property, and then resold it to J. Uteri. F. M. Weiss & Co. sold a plot on the west side of Gainsborough avenue, 250 :'eet south of Roberts avenue, for A. Miller to Paulina Lefrierl; for M. Schwartz to Henry Kollesch, two family house 1420 Glover street; for Thomas Kane, two family house 2162 Chafterton avenue to Joseph di Martino, and 1200 Union avenue for Isaac iloskowitz to James Spears. Rosman Realty Corporation sold to George Andres the plot 78.4x34.10 at the southeast corner of Fleldston road r.nd 261st street, Riverdale. Jamaica Hillside Gardens Corporation sold more than 600 lots at Hillside Sta tion on Long Island Railroad to a buil der of single houses. He will sell houses \nd lots from plans and build dwellings according to the buyers' Ideas. There Will be a playground for children and tennis and basketball courts. Elm Estates Corporation, Inc., sold four dwellings on Gilmore street, East Elmhurst, to Mary B. Schmittberger, Jennie McGarry, Jack Borok and Julius Kaminsky. G. Tuoti & Co. sold for WllUam Vedovato to Frank Paterno the eighty reven acre fruit farm at Highland. On the property are two dwellings and out buildings. It was held at $35,000. Harvey Craw and J. Edward Breuer sold the home of John GUllar in Great Neck to J. W. Lucker. George Howe sold for Herkimer, Inc., three plots on Stellar avenue, Pelham Manor, to F. J. and R. J. Johnson, who will improve the premises with a resi dence. He sold also for Catherine Smith two plots on Iden avenue, Pelham Manor, to R. J. Lyons. F. M. Crawley & Bros, sold for the Brookwood Realty Company the resi dence southwest corner of Sutherland road and Harrison avenue, Montclair, to H. G. Pruden of this city. The house is on part of the tract purchased by the late Senator Osborne and known as Brookwood. The property has frontages of 100 feet on Sutherland road and about 190 feet on Harrison avenue. J., Aug. 21.?Eman uel and Bernard Levy to-day announced the awarding of a contract for the con struction of a six story department store at 76 to 8 4 Broad street, In the heart of the business section, at a cost of $750,000. The building will have a frontage of eighty-six feet on Broad street, with four entrances and will run back 260 feet. 14 will be eighty five feet, high, the limit allowed by the city and will be of brick, granite and terracotta, with a steel frame In ad dition to regular departments, carry ing everything from wearing nppnrel to furniture, sporting goods, etc., will be a restaurant, lunchroom and soda fountain In the basement, which will also have an economy basement with 15,000 feet of floor apace. HARLEM DRIVE OPENS FOR MOTORS ON OCT. 12 River Speedway to Have Big Celebration. The Harlem River speedway will be formally opened for automobiles on October 12, according to an announce ment made yesterday by Acting Park Commissioner John J. Ryan. A celebra tion will be arranged at the suggestion of the Harlem Chamber of Commerce. City officials and civic organizations will take part. The dato set, It was stated.
