The new triweekly service of the Holland-American line between New pott News and Rotterdam and Am Merdain wns inaugurated yesterday morning when the Dutch steamer Sloierdyk arrived at this port from Rotterdam with a cargo of imports. In the future the Holland-American line will employ three steamers, the Sloierdyk, Soestdyk and Atnestehlyk. in this service und one of the vessels will sail from this port for Holland every three weeks. Balti? more. SCHOONER TO BE SOLD, Claim of the Hudson & Bro. Against the Palmer Allowed, Judge Waddill, in the Federal Conn, at ..Norfolk, has ordered the five-masted schooner. Fannie Palmer now at the local shipyard to lie sold at public auciloii. The sale will take* place in about two -weeks. Cap? tain Babbitt, the largest sailing ves? sel afloat, arrived at his port from Boston Just 21 hours and 25 minutes after her opponent, the five-masted schooner Governor Ames. Captain King, dropped anchor in this harbor. The two schooners left. Boston on the afterncon of April 15, the i awson lowing about one hour ahead of the Governor Ames. The vessels drop , petl anchor In Cape Cod Bay, where I they remained during the night of April 15. At daylight of the lCth, the big schooners got under way and started tor this port. The wind was favorable and each vessel made good time,, but from the ve,ry first it was apparent that the Ames would reach Newport News before her mammoth opponent. The vessels made exceedingly good time down the New England coast and when Nantucket Shoals Light Ship was passed the Amts was several hours In the lead. The funeral of Mrs. Louise Oliver, who died .Sunday morning at her home, 'JL'? Forty-third street, look place yesterday afternoon.
