All differences existing between the town of Phoebus and the street rail? way officials over the street paving question wero wiped out last night at n meeting of the town council. The agreement with the company had boon drawn, but when presented to Ihe (own council for ratification there was an objection to the wording of one of the sections. The matter wns then referred back to tlie railway officials and last night | Hon. Samuel Cordon dimming, the local attorney, appeared before fun town council, when the differences wore adjusted to the satisfaction of the members of the council and the railway officials. Lamp Exploding Sets Fire to House ! The residence of Mr. George E. Bryant, who conducts a hotel at York town, narrowly escaped destruction by fire on Wednesday. A lamp In tho room of Mrs. Howard, the mother of Mrs. Bryant, exploded and only the prompt work of the boarders and neighbors prevented the blaze from eating u;> the entire building.
